Brisbane Airport, Emergency Road

BaseBind was used at Brisbane Airport to create a solid, weatherproof emergency road. The existing surface was unsafe for emergency use, with weather-affected areas and inconsistent road conditions presenting ongoing concerns.

The existing material, which had been compromised by weather exposure, was broken up to a depth of 100mm. BaseBind was then sprayed on and blade-mixed evenly through the surface before being shaped and compacted.

The emergency road can now be relied upon with confidence should the need ever arise. BaseBind bonds to the roadbase material and sets firmly, locking everything in place to create a hydrophobic, high-strength surface.
