Meet Cooee Products

We are a family run company based in south east Queensland, we have been operating for over 2 decades, growing awareness of health issues from dust and pushing for our roads, paths and walk way's to be built to last, the standard procedure isn't working.
Founded in a garage on the Sunshine Coast Queensland out of curiosity, Cooee has now expanded into a road stabiliser and dust suppressant that is used globally and in every corner or Australia.

Water gets into road material under the asphalt, weakens it and creates a hole, this is why potholes occur more when it rains.
Cooee worked on a product that mixed easily with water but when it dried it became insoluble so only mixed with water once.

Following some extensive lab tests and successful trials with some Government and council roads the Managing Director Tony Pynsent appeared on the ABC Show "The New Inventors" in November 2005
The company received over a thousand calls after the show went to air including one from the management of the BMA (BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance) coal mine Goonyella Riverside in Central Queensland asking could the product be used to improve road conditions in their mine to lower maintenance and improve production and safety.
A trial was conducted mixing the product into the surface of a high traffic corridor at the mine with great success, it was pointed out to Cooee that they didn’t want to rip up their roads, they also had dust problems and a shortage of water so they wanted to spray the product for dust and gradually let it build up in the road instead.
With the BMA’s staff assistance the product was redesigned as a dust suppressant that soaked into the surface and when the water evaporated a layer of bitumen is left on the particles in the road binding it together.
The results amazed everybody, a mine that used to spray water on the roads 10 to 15 times a day to control dust was able to spray diluted DustBloc twice a day. Reducing water usage by 80%.

We may not be as big as a bitumen company but we work side by side with the biggest companies in Australia to achieve any outcome, attend jobs first hand and still have the capabilities to grow much much bigger, we are pushing to help the environment through dust mitigation and our zero percent hydrocarbon leaching.

To often will road's fail, causing  run off to enter our water ways or dust migrating effecting our wildlife or Australian's health working hard in mining or civil.

Tony Pynsent

Managing Director & Founder

Tony began his career as a science teacher before moving into business where he spent 18 successful years building and managing Future, an office technology company. Under his leadership, the company earned a place in the Business Review Weekly Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies on four separate occasions, and in 1999 Tony was named Manager of the Year by the Australian Institute of Management.

After selling that business, Tony founded Cooee Products as an independent research company, channelling his scientific background and experience into developing a range of innovative solutions, the most successful of these being BaseBind and DustBloc.

What Tony values most about his work at Cooee is the variety of jobs and the relationships, no two jobs are ever quite the same. The versatility of BaseBind and DustBloc means the products can be adapted to a wide range of conditions simply by adjusting dilution and delivery rates. A local site visit to understand the material and the specific challenges at hand, followed by on-the-job staff training is typically all that's required to deliver an effective, tailored solution.

These are the values Tony has drawn on throughout every stage of his career, and they remain the values that Cooee Products proudly displays today and will continue to display into the future
